WORDS OF WISDOM
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WORD OF THE WEEK
*** POSITIVE OUTLOOK ***
WORD OF THE WEEK ACTIVITY
*** Is your cup half full or half empty? Make a list of 100 positive things that have happened to you in your life. Read them whenever you are feeling blue.
QUESTION OF THE WEEK
*** What new ideas do you have? ***
QUESTION OF THE WEEK ACTIVITY
*** An idea is like a shooting star, unless you write it down, it is gone in an instant. This week keep a pad of paper near you at all times, and when an idea pops into your head, write it down immediately. At the end of the week, review all of your ideas, and choose the best ideas to put into action.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
*** "When people laugh together; they cease to be young and old, teacher and pupil, worker and boss. They become a single group of human beings." ***
W. Lee Grant

RAISING MORALE
Monkeying Around Party
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Idea contributed by Ellen Linden, of Texas Instruments
Poking fun at ourselves helps us lighten up and is a great stress reliever.
Using slide film, take pictures of funny things that happen at the office. In addition, ask employees to bring in funny photos showing when they goofed or were embarassed. Make these photographs into slides to show at your Monkeying Around Party.
A fun atmosphere is created when the manager appears wearing a monkey costume. As each funny slide is shown, ask the employee in it to tell the story behind it. Serve monkey food such as bananas, oranges, peanuts, etc.

BUILDING CONFIDENCE
Create a Dream Book
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's one way you can program your subconscious mind for success. Your subconscious mind thinks in pictures. Buy an artist's sketch pad. On each page draw a picture of yourself enjoying something that you want, but don't have yet - a new home, car, relationship, hobby, vacation, etc. At the bottom of each picture, write what the picture is, and draw a symbol on the page that represents the desire. For example, a heart for love, $ for money, barbells or weights for strength, a smiling face for happiness, etc.
Look at your sketches each night just before you go to sleep. You will be programming your subconscious mind to create the things you want.
