MORALE BOOSTER OF THE WEEK

Celebrate Freedom and Pay Tribute to Those Who Lost Their Lives.

-------------------------------------------------------

It is now exactly one year since the terrorists attacked The United States on September 11th.

It was a time that tested our dedication, resolve, and resilience as a country. We saw great courage as we saw ordinary people become heroes. We experienced the enormous compassion of the American People.

Although were faced with fear and despair, we experienced renewed patriotism and faith in democracy, freedom, and the strength of our people.

How you can celebrate freedom and
pay tribute to those who lost their lives.

Light a candle.
Ring a bell
Sing patriotic songs.
Display your flag.
Write a poem.
Create a group memorial mural where everyone writes their thoughts in words or pictures.
Have a family dinner and say a prayer for those who lost their lives.
Volunteer in some way to make your community a better place.
Write letters to your friends, family and loved ones.

CREATING CONFIDENCE
Patriotic Songs

-------------------------------------------------------

By Harriet Meyerson

Singing together helps people bond as a group, express emotions and build confidence in the value of freedom. Here are the words to America's most beloved patriotic songs. Sing them today at work and at home.

THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
AMERICA (My Country 'tis of Thee)
My county 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing
Land where by fathers died!
Land of the pilgrims' pride!
From every mountainside
Let freedom ring!
Our fathers' God, to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing
Long may our land be bright
With freedom's holy light,
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our King

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesty
Above the fruited plain
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.
O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassiond stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control
Thy liberty in law

GOD BLESS AMERICA
God bless America,
Land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America,
My home sweet home.
